What is RSSDA?


RSSDA stands for Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency. It is an intervention organisation of the Rivers State Government. It was established by law in 2007 by the RSSDA Act of 2007, which was subsequently amended in 2008.  RSSDA has working collaboration with Rivers State line Ministries and other relevant Government agencies and is subject to legislative oversight by the State House of Assembly

Who will benefit from RSSDA?


The individuals and the communities, will benefit through investment in social-economic development, RSSDA will create the enabling environment for the individuals to empower themselves, and participate actively in the State and the national economies.

What should a community do to partner with RSSDA?


Be willing to be part of the development drive of the government and creating enabling environment for the implementation of the plan. Communities must be ready to be partners in development and not just receivers of the projects.

How does RSSDA select its projects and programs in a community?


Projects are selected based on the strategic community development plans of the communities and financial capabilities of the Agency.

Will RSSDA provide employment and contract opportunities?


Not directly. Through its programs, RSSDA will work with communities to create wealth and opportunities for themselves and enable them participate actively in the State and National economies.

What RSSDA will not do?


RSSDA is not a rival body to duplicate regular government development activities.

What is the geographical coverage of RSSDA’s Activities?


It is the intention of the River State Government that RSSDA activities will cover the entire State with more focus on the rural areas.
